Wedding Reception Planning

Long dream again...

I don't even remember the beginning of it all because it was so long. But here's where it began (at least as far as where I remember it starting)...

I found myself in an indoor pool of some sort. This wasn't your ordinary indoor pool with a nice perch around the outside and whatnot. This was a wall to wall pool. The only way out of the pool was by two stairways up to the rest of the building. Don't worry, there's none of that "can't escape" stuff in this dream. Well, the "pool room" had to be at least 50 feet by 50 feet making for a 2500 square foot pool. It was quite crowded. There were probably 30 or so people in the pool, and the pool was about 4 feet deep.

Stephen MacD., a few other friends and I were all swimming around in a group and we started doing these races where we'd kick our feet hard enough to have our waist and up all out of the water and we'd float across it and try to get to the other side of the pool and back before anyone else. We did this twice and then three of us, including me, were fooling around and we stood shoulder to shoulder and blocked Steve and one other person against the wall so that they couldn't beat us if we raced across again, but at this point we were dressed more normally rather than for a pool setting and we weren't in a pool anymore. I wore a dark shirt and the other two guys that I stood with had light colored shirts that were almost the same as the other.

At this point, someone I didn't know, and who seemed a little out there, came over and was asking me and others how many of something (I can't remember exactly what it was) could be read, and he was like, "As many as I have on this CD because your eye could read it." Then he went on to say how security cameras and other things could read it too. Then we walked out of the entrance to the room that was near us and this guy continued to follow me and I pointed out the security camera in this darker side room and he went and set up a video camera near it and pointed it into the room we just came from. It was suddenly on my mind that we were in a club and the club was closing up at that moment and we were setting up for a wedding the next day and I walked back into the main room and the guy had already set up a still camera way up in the air (the room must have been 10 feet high or so) and was probably there to take overhead pictures of what was going to happen tomorrow.

It seemed like a very cool place to have a wedding reception. The DJ was all setting up for the event and was playing loud music, and I thought how by the end of the reception everyone was going to be half deaf. And there was lots of mood lighting to make it a very club-like party atmosphere. Plus, there was a stage and all that jazz.

I walked back to the other room and there barmaids were cleaning up the bar in there and the younger girl was wearing this glass holder as if it was a way to speed up service because she could hold 8 or so glasses right in front of her. She took one off this vest thing and started scooping ice out of the ice bins and the older lady there was cleaning up other stuff.

Then I realized that I was the only person of the group I was hanging with that was still around, so I left and was going elsewhere and figured that the people I drove over had left already, so I went to find my truck. AJ came running out and was asking me to wait up for him, so I continued more slowly toward the truck to allow him to catch up, and we got to the truck and it was parked somewhere else and there was a gas hose hooked up pumping gas into it. I looked around and saw that there was a gas station right next to the lot that it was parked it. It was very odd.

Matt apparently drove and parked the truck there and was filling it up. And then it just finished fueling and Matt got in the truck as I took the hose out, and he went to back up the truck and I had to tell him to wait because the hose somehow was feed through the fender of the truck and needed to be untangled from it. I did so and he then backed up and it tangled back in again. This happened five or so times until I had finally coiled up enough of the hose that it wasn't near the truck where it could get caught. So he backed out and I threw this hose down in the middle of the open parking lot, and now it was just a garden hose instead of a gas hose, and it was considerably longer. So I started coiling that all up and whatnot.

After coiling it up, I walked over to these tents next to the lot and found that there were a bunch of my friends having dinner there on these decks covered by canopies and they all overlooked the ocean. The decks basically hung out over the rocks and right out onto the water. It was quite a nice place to eat, and it was all dimly lit to make for a nice atmosphere. At this point I believe I woke up.

I don't know if this was some sort of contrasting view of something because at first there was the reception planning at this club, and then there was a much more romantic dinner going on at the end. I wonder if this last dinner was actually a reception. Maybe the "club reception" was something that would be cool but wouldn't work out, and the "romantic reception" was something that wasn't as cool, but was much more widely accepted than the other reception, and so it beat out the club reception.
