The Cat [2/03/2004]
Well, this dream was short and a bit strange and unusual. But when are my dreams ever normal? Well,
I was in my supposed apartment and my old roommate John was living there as well. I was sitting at my
computer petting a cat I had. I guess it was my cat and I had recently gotten it. It was a pretty
normal gray cat and black stripes all down it. I think the cat was named Fido or Frodo, something
"F-do"-ish.
The weird thing is that it had some diarrhea and I had to clean up after it. Kinda gross. After
cleaning it up, I looked over toward John who decided to got to bed. I was telling him, "But it's only
one o'clock." I looked at the clock and it was just a few minutes after one, and I assume it was in the
afternoon because the sun was still shining through the windows.
Some loud commotion suddenly was going outside, so I looked to go see what it was, and it looked like
it was just some college students making a ruckus. John complained about the noise as he was trying to
sleep. I went back to my desk and started petting my cat again, and then I woke up to the baseboard
heat turning on.
Unfortunately I immediately forgot the dream and only recalled most of it after associating checking
the clock to the same activity in my dream. I then recalled that it was one o'clock in my dream and
then remembered I was in a dorm room or something and then only later this evening I realized there was
a cat in the dream. I must say I've not saved a dream from shear forgetfulness quite as well as
this one. I must be getting better at this remembering my dreams business.
