Swimming Hole [1/2/2006]
This dream I had monday morning was a rather long but not too interesting one. However it was still strange by
any means. So lets begin.
Well, first I recall seeing a grassy road with grooves warn from many carriages traveling along it, and
surrounding the road was much tall, dry grass and dark green pine trees. I must say, the whole dream had this very
dull brown color to it with some grey dried out wood color here and there.
Along this road there came a small wood-covered carriage without a horse. A woman in a very traditional colonial
dress was riding in the carriage, and apparently her husband was pushing the carriage along the road. They
eventually got closer, and I could see there was some tension between the couple. Finally the woman jumped out of
the carriage, and the man tried to encourage her to get back in the carriage, but she refused. Instead she ran down
the hill and lept into a large muddy pool. Her rather yellow dress was now half covered with dark mud, but she
seemed quite happy with that.
Another lady jumped into the mud with her, and then they both got out and ran down the hill where they came upon
a rather elaborate swimming hole crowded with people. I now became apart of this, and probably as the husband, and
I ran down to the swimming hole to find the two women. Now they had jumped into a pool of water that was up a steep
slope from the main swimming hole that people were jumping into.
I watched as everyone was jumping in and some slid down a few crafted slides and into the big pool. Then I
noticed, while most walked right by one nook in this large maze of carved out slides, one man walked through this
small nook and out onto a large log that was split lengthwise and was about two feet in diameter. He ran and
jumped off the end and into the deepest spot of the water hole.
I thought to myself that I should try this jump, so I went out to this log, and as I went out toward the end of
it, the log started shifting and sliding off of the ledge where it sat. So I backed up and it returned to its
normal position. I tried again, and it did the same. I was getting annoyed that I couldn't just jump off the end
because it kept shifting about. I'm certain I eventually just jumped off part way down the log and into the pool,
but then I woke up afterward. The women just seemed to be out of the picture at this point, and I was enjoying
myself amongst the other jumpers and swimmmers.
