Office and Giant Ants [1/12/2004]
This is the account of two dreams I had last monday and both seem to be foretelling. The first
was simply some kind of randomness at work and the second about these giant ants invading our home.
The office dream I mostly forgot except the very end of it. I actually woke up at like 4:30am after this
dream, so that explains why I forgot most of it.
I was in this small building that seemed to be both an office and a library at the same time. The inside
wall of the building was all just one big shelf of books and the outside wall was bare. It seemed like our
offices were stashed in the corner of the building and the room seemed more like the back corner of a library.
Our desks were all crowded together with stuff everywhere and a number of plants to brighten things up.
I came into the office and to my desk. I then went over to see what the other guys were doing. They all
were sitting around hanging out and talking. One of the guys and his girlfriend was sitting at his desk and
he was trying to immitate some cartoon or television character. I then realized this was a dream and I couldn't
help but wake up at that point. It was then 4:30am and I made a mental note of the dream and went back to sleep.
I believe this was a foretelling of the day I'd get laid off which was wednesday (the 14th). It wasn't verbatim, of course, as
no dream really is. But we did work in the corner of an office building and the rest of the building is a printing press.
One of the guys did make a great impression of some actor when he was making a joke while we were all hanging around having
lunch since it was his birthday. I think if I stayed in the dream a bit longer I may have experienced the boss laying me
off.
The next dream I had just before I got up. It was night time and I had some friends over and we were in the family room
and suddenly the wall by the fireplace burst open and giant man-sized ants came into the house. I found a poker stick or
some kind of stick and killed the ants. Then we ran to the stairs and found the were coming up the stairs. I went down to
meet them in battle and killed them and we went to the stove downstairs and they came in through the wall there and I fended them off
there and this continued into the computer room/entrance area and then I woke up.
I think this ant dream foretold a little of the ants I found by the fireplace. Seems every year they come in through the walls by the
fireplace and unthaw from the cold outdoors.
