Chased by a Tornado [2/14/2005]
Had a most unusual dream this morning. It started out in the middle
of a rather well populated suburb. I was going over to a friend's home
for supper, and that was all fine and dandy.
I left from there with a friend of mine (no idea who it really was)
and we headed back towards my home. We passed a few nice houses on the
way and all. As we got closer to home, the sky got darker, the wind
started to pick up, and it started to rain a little.
I got home (which surprisingly looked like my home does, yard and
all) and the clouds seemed to rush over the house rather quickly but the
rain died off and my whole family, aunts and grandpa were all outside at
a couple picnic tables under the two trees in our back yard. Not sure why
they were there, but they seemed to be enjoy themselves.
Not more than a moment later, a funnel cloud dropped out of the
clouds above our house and touched ground in the front yard. It then
rolled over the house and into the back yard. Amazing, it didn't do much
more than rattle the shingles on the roof.
The problem now was that it was in the back yard. And we got a good
look at its makeup. For some strange reason, it was entirely made up of
solid water. Normally you'd only see that if a tornado touched down in a
body of water, but it was in our back yard.
The tornado seemed to chase me around. And I successfully evaded it
the entire time. Although, a few times the water seemed to build up and
spill out of the funnel and get me and some other people all wet.
However, it never did manage to catch and toss any of us. After evading
it a few times, My alarm went off and I woke up.
