Cottage Wolf [01/03/2004]
I think this dream was almost entirely sparked by watching The Neverending Story with that evil wolf in it
(granted, yes, that wolf was pretty fake looking). Either I was deceiving myself, or it brought up the memory of a
dream I had when I was little of a wolf attacking me and having someone else ward it off.
The whole dream seemed narrated by myself because I kept hearing thoughts telling about what I had dealt with in
the past. I was with my family and we were all at my grandfather's old house which was normally by a lake and all, but
instead it was deep within the woods. The trees around it were similar, yet different. They all seemed as tall as
the pines originally around the house, but seemed to stretch even higher into the air. They also seemed to be a
different kind of pine that was a lot greener than the pines that grew around my grandfather's old house. I must say
it had that whole Lord of the Rings feel as if we were in a vast woods and there was no one for miles and you could
step back and see the trees spread out for a few hundred yards before you couldn't see any further. And there was my
grandfather's small cottage buried deep in the center of this wood.
Now we were all leaving the cottage to take a walk. Shortly after we stepped out of the house, a black wolf crept
up to me and pounced. I fell over and was trapped under him trying to keep him from scratching and biting me. In a
moment, my grandfather came up and beat the wolf away at which point it ran off back into the woods and around behind
the cottage.
We started walking up to a road on the side of a hill and made out way along it, but I for some reason stayed back
to admire something when again the wolf came around and pounced me. Again my grandfather beat him off and we all walked
down the path together. I either woke up or the dream transitioned into something I don't remember.
It's very bizarre the parallels I saw in this dream. Firth there's my family whom are all down at my
grandfather's place right now (besides me) visiting for Christmas and new years. So this wolf could be attacking me because I'm
not supposed to be in the picture. Also the whole thing about this being in the past could be referring to before my
family went down to visit my grandfather.
