Molded Clay [2/24/2004]
For the first time in a long time, I actually was in my real family room. Except this time the furniture was turned so the
table was going the long way instead of the short way.
I was sitting at the table with my brother and our old friend Eric. We had this gray clay and we were somehow competing for
some sort of award regarding our art ability with this clay. Eric and I were working together and we were trying to make some
kind of phaser-looking thing almost like the old phasers in Star Trek, but we were having trouble with the handle staying in
shape.
After we thought we had it all set, we looked at Matt's contraption, and it was some kind of futuristic robot with superfine
details to make it look almost real. After seeing his thing, we knew ours wouldn't compete. We then started working on turning
it into some kind of craft and adding lots of fine detail.
I needed a sharp object to carve the details into it, but I didn't have my knife, so I tried a few other things, but they
didn't work. I kept complaining that I didn't have my knife. I looked over at Matt's place and saw that he used his knife that's
just like mine to carve details into his sculpture.
So I decided I needed to get my knife, so I went to go downstairs and I woke up.
I know this has something to do with my friend Eli staying here for a few weeks, and also something to do with Matt's art and
how he is working on some cut-out type of artwork now. I don't know why I was jealous of his art abilities though. I have done
stuff like his in the past and I wanted to show him one design I did, but I couldn't find it quickly. Maybe that had something
to do with it.
