Ampersand [12/01/2003]
This one was simple and wasn't very weird either, although there wasn't much to it. Me and my brother, Matt, were wandering along some
sort of upper level of a community center. It was sorta like the upper scaffolding of a common hallway. So you could look over the edge
and see ten feet down into the common area of the building and you're not really suppose to be up where we were because it isn't really a
second floor.
The whole place was generally white. We worked our way around the pillars and arches of this upper recess until we got to where the
real second floor was. We had to go around a bend and past like some secret entrance to some room on our way to the second floor. We
finally found ourselves on the second floor in this lounge overlooking to first floor. The lounge was really deep and stairs came up from
the far right (looking in toward the lounge). Matt jumped off the ledge and clung to the edge and dropped himself down to the first floor.
I looked over the edge and wasn't sure if I could get myself down there, but I crawled down the edge, hung by my arms and dropped down to
the first floor. We wandered back toward the bend in the hallway (to the left of the lounge), and it got a bit crowded. Then these
officers seemed to be coming after us, so we ran back up the stairs and over to the front of the lounge by the ledge. The officers started
to surround us, so we decided we'd jump over the ledge again. But instead we ducked down just before the ledge, and the officers jumped
and flew over the ledge.
We thought to ourselves that they didn't jump off the ledge correctly and that something (the system?) was going to do something to
them. Suddenly the couple officers who jumped over the ledge turned into ampersands, flashed when they hit the floor, and disappeared to
nothing. I then woke up. It was as if they were turning into html source code or something.
