Gene-spliced Heart [02/05/2008]

I appeared to be the test subject in some bizarre gene splicing experiment. Two people, a man and a woman were attached to this strange device, as was I. The man looked like Captain Kirk and it was assumed that he was my father, but he was not aware of that. We were standing in a hospital with this white web-like mesh adjoining them to me through our arms.

As they stood there, Captain Kirk kept asking, “why is he here,” as well as, “why is he male?”

As he asked these questions, he kept removing and attaching this web device from his arm. As he did, the translucent white tubes that attached us together changed from blue to yellow and back. When it was detached, it all slowly turned yellow. The blue color seemed to signify his genes and the yellow signified the woman’s genes. I assume he kept asking the questions because, first, he didn’t know who I was, and secondly, he must have thought, by detaching himself from the equation, he could make my genes splice as female.

As this was all happening, it made me think that we were creating me on the spot, fully grown and maybe initially from a draft body, kind of like that Schwarzenegger movie, The 6th Day. I believe someone explained that the colors were actually the male and female hormones being converted into me.

Each time he pulled out the web from his arm, I started to get weak. Near the end of this dream, he pulled out the web and didn’t stick it back in. I became weak, and felt like I was dying. Doctors intervened and a decision was made that the only thing that would save me now was to put me in surgery. It was determined that I was now bleeding into my lungs.

They started pumping the blood from my lungs. Eventually, they had to remove the pump in order to do the surgery. They had to cut something out of me in order to save me. They said I had some condition which they explained as an acronym. I had either an ACT or CAT heart. They didn’t seem to be doing anything to help me at this point, and I decided to save myself by doing this dangerous surgery myself. The people around me completely ignored that I was there as I stood there drowning in the blood inside my lungs and cut a hole into my chest with a knife. As I did that, one man came to my side and coached me on, not intervening, but just watching in hope.

I quickly worked to cut something out as I came closer and closer to drowning. The atmosphere around was that of which the doctors and people there ignored my existence in hopes that their problem would go away. As if not acknowledging my existence meant that I wasn’t alive to begin with. Like the catch-22 of abortion—when is a baby a baby and not a fetus.

By intervening, they were pretending that this whole procedure never occurred. Most couples who apparently go through this process don’t back out while it’s happening, so they made a loophole to make it not their problem if a new life is lost. After it’s all over, they can just chalk up the failure to some other procedure like removing a large tumor or something.

I reached the point where I was about to pass out and it seemed that I succeeded in completing the procedure on my own. I passed out and thought I died and no one did anything to help. A moment later I woke up and was resting there. The man who coached me was glad I was awake and the doctors now seemed to realize I was a person. I said that I, “changed my ACT heart to a heart.”
