Late Night Phone Call [2/14/2004]
A short but interesting dream occurred just before I was woken up this morning. It was supposedly late in the evening and I was
going to visit Tom and Maya and Lena for whatever reason. So I arrived at a house that was (and wasn't in reality) theirs. Upon
arrival I found out that they had all gone to bed already, so I crept through the house for whatever reason. I went upstairs and
into a room that seemed to be Lena's playroom. There were lots of big colorful toys around and against the walls there were a couple
shelves and a dresser. I picked up a toy that looked like an egg timer and spun it around a little and it suddenly spazed out and
kept going around in circles and dinging when it reached the zero mark each time.
I panicked a bit at this point trying to get the toy to stop moving. Eventually I did, and I set the toy back on the dresser
where it belonged. I remained deathly still hoping not to have awakened anyone, but I heard footsteps heading towards the room, so I
figured I must have woken Tom up. So I stepped out of the room to see who it was, and Matt came up the stairs and said that Amy had
called on behalf of Allison and Shaun and Kristin. He said that they were in some town down in Pennsylvania for the night and that
they were going to come up in a few hours after they watched a movie and got their stuff together.
I was a bit confused because I didn't understand how they were going to get up here in any reasonable time from Pennsylvania. And
also why they called Amy and had her call us. Rather weird. Anyway, I awoke at this point.
I mostly get this dream except for why Tom and Maya were involved in it.
The call from Amy actually had happened in the form of me calling home and mom telling me she called asking about some song. Then
Kristin called later or something saying that Allison and Shaun had made it to her house safely. They were spending the night there
and they were going to call today and make plans to visit. So that explains the phone call. Since it was relayed through my mom,
you can see how it explains the whole phone relay deal that went on in the dream.
The egg timer thing I believe had something to do with the egg timer we used last night to time the pizzas at the LAN party we
had. I think the sneaking around may have been just me trying to keep from waking up my parents when I got home from the LAN party
last night.
The thing about them being in Pennsylvania is due to Matt taking a trip down to Messiah College this weekend. So if you change
around people and events, I think you'll find that my mom and dad were personified by going to Tom and Maya's house. And the whole
Allison/Shaun/Amy/Matt thing was just a mix of a bunch of phone calls and other events that were happening this weekend.
