Infested House [2/07/2004]
Well, this morning's dream was a bit of a scare compared to anything else I've dreamt in a while. It's been like
years since I felt scared in a dream. But this was only mildly alarming.
We were supposedly at the Thompson's house (I don't think it's really their house though because it was way too
big) and it was evening or something and there was some sort of big house party going on. People were wandering all
over the house. Well, I was following a few people around and we ended up in some vacant part of the house. It
seemed like no one ever visited that part of the building.
We got there by going down a set of stairs we found in a corner of a room where no one really goes. As we got
down to the area, these strange creatures started creeping out of the side rooms and up from some sort of cellar
area. I fended them off as much as possible and helped get the other guests out of the area. Most of the creatures
were these small head-sized things with pale skin, an ugly face, and weird little arms that let them crawl along the
floor and hop around. They almost seemed like some kind of face huggers.
After a while of this, the scene transitioned to me by myself running out of the house. It was now morning and
the house was mostly dark with not a soul in the house. I ran out and saw the Thompson family was walking across
their enormous yard/field. It almost seemed like one of those huge mansions in Great Britain. The fields ran out
for what seemed like miles and tall dark trees were scattered about to keep it from looking too boring. The sky was
overcast and everything looked rather dark and blue and gloomy.
I had to get going, so I went to my car, but found I didn't have my keys. So I went over to Mr. Thompson and told
him I left my keys in the house, so he gave me the key to the house and I shuddered in the fact that I had to go back
into the house.
I went anyway. I got to the house and went inside and didn't see any sign of these creatures yet. I then walked
down a hallway. The hardwood floors were dark with only the grey light from the windows shimmering off them. It
would have felt like no one lived there except for the fact that everything looked clean. When I got down this
hallway, a couple of the creatures came out of the rooms and attacked me, so I kicked them off and backed away.
Eventually I just woke up while I was fighting these creatures.
