Escaping Security [1/22/2004]

I don't know what really sparked this dream, but it started out that my friends, Andrew and Joe, my brother, and I were all watching a movie and it finished, so we were exiting the theater. For whatever reason, I spotted a computer lab off to the side of the theater with glass windows and all. I went in and took a monitor that looked a lot like mine, and hauled it out with us.

Well, obviously some people had a problem with this. We walked out some stairs and into the rest of the mall complex thing we were in and up some more stairs to the outdoors where the stairs just sort of were the side of the building and two escalators went up and down these stairs for those too lazy to walk the many stairs that lead up to the building. Lots of people were out there on the stairs hanging out and we went down the escalators.

Two or three big, tough looking guys that didn't look at all like security guards came up after me and took the monitor and tried to turn me in for taking it. So I let them take the monitor and I escaped their grasp and ran back inside the mall. I had realized I forgot my jacket and gloves in the theater, so I ran back there and to the security offices and there was like an endless line of people waiting to talk to the security chief, and there was an endless file rack thing that I assumed to be where all the cases and things were kept. I figured they must have my file in there on the end, but I figured if I went and took it that I'd get in more trouble. So I quickly ran down some stairs and down the hall to where the theater rooms were. I wondered how I'd get past the people there, but then I discovered I had my jacket and gloves with me, and so I turned around and made my way back up.

Some more serious looking guys spotted me and I knew they were going to try and get me. I went out some door and into the stairwells. There seemed to be an endless maze of stairs and floors in this complex. I went down some stairs and onto some kind of private dinner hall floor where two men were awaiting to catch me. I got a surge of energy and ran right past the first guy and jumped with my right foot forward and it made solid contact with the second guy's head. They looked like some kind of secret service agents or something. My shoe fell off when I hit the one guy's head. And so I had to get it back on. Strangely enough, they didn't pursue me as I put my shoe on.

The guy who got a head shot called in to someone saying what happened and that I had lost my shoe. I put my shoe on while he did this and bolted for the double doors ahead of me. Neither guy caught me. I ran through a food service area and through a ballroom and found a door leading to some more stairs. The other guys found their way to me and so I started my way down the stairs. Some other passer-by was walking up the stairs but didn't think anything of what was going on.

I bolted through another door and knew that the other guys were expecting me to go downstairs. So I quickly acted and went up a flight of stairs and through another few doors. They didn't follow. I went down some hallways and through a door. I found myself on some kind of escape exit with like 10 flights of stairs below. I found I could slide all the way down a railing along side the stairs, so I did. It was like riding down a fire pole or something. I side all the way down this building and stopped just before I reached the ground. I found I could either get on the last set of stairs or else just jump down to the ground. So I jumped to the ground since I found it was quicker than taking stairs. I squeezed through some bars and out onto the parking lot.

It was dark out. I ran over to where I saw my truck parked and Matt and Andrew were in it. But Joe wasn't in there, so I looked around and found him running around doing whatever as if he was bored and waiting. So I called to him and had him get in the truck. I got to the truck and called him again as he was wasting time just standing around. So they got in and my brother commented that I must be in trouble or something. I started up the truck (which was in the security lot, the last place they'd look for my vehicle), and I drove off and down to the entrance. I missed seeing the merging lane and just went to the stop light and turned right and down the road. A police car came up the road the other way and I pulled over as much as I could to let him by, and we drove down the hill and into what looked like an industrial wasteland of a town.

It seemed like all the roads all met at this telephone pole in the middle which had like a hundred cables running up and down it. I went to go left around it, but it fell over, so I drove to the right, and down toward this shipping bay area. I passed a couple Porsches going the other way, and suddenly I was driving a Porsche and we were pushing something in front of us as I stepped on the gas to get out of the area s quickly as possible. The box thing in front of us just sort of crunched into the steel pillars of this covered bay area. The area was like a mile long and had shipping garages all along the right and the drive was covered by the roof and held up on the left by some steel pillars all along. A lake lay to the left of this huge building.

I just stepped on the gas and we went cruising down this bay and towards a road on the other side that lead through some grassy fields and back home. I woke up as we were driving through the bay area, but I somehow knew where we were going. And no one seemed to notice that we left the mall complex or anything.
