Well, this dream was the shortest one I've remembered in a while. The account starts as I appear in a river. I'm swimming around and I'm all by myself enjoying the scenery.

The river is sort of in the shape of a 'D' with an island in the middle. The bottom of the 'D' is like a tail and is a waterfall. The top of the 'D' continues on into some rapids and off into the trees. Both banks are covered in extremely tall trees. Almost like redwood trees, but they're more of a grey-brown color. The trees are so thick that you can't see but a few feet past the bank. The island in the center is also covered with these really tall trees. I never saw the sky in this dream. It seemed like a cloudy day and the reflections on the water, although there were only a few, were of that grey cloud color. The water itself was a dark dark grey. Almost black.

The waterfall had an edge of trees to its left (looking toward the fall) and a short (10 foot) dirt plateau to the right curving to the left behind you if you were standing in the middle of the fall. There was only about ten feet between the plateau and the fall. This basically describes the bottom tail of this 'D'. And the waterfall was at the bottom of this "tail".

Well, I was swimming around enjoying my being by myself. Then a woman and her son came along in a canoe and parked it by this island. Then they got out and started swimming and playing in the area I was swimming (in the bottom curl of the 'D'). At that point I got annoying that they were swimming there even though they could just go upstream and be to themselves. So I decided to go lay on this little wooden raft that was attached to the side of the short plateau and about 5 feet from the edge of the waterfall. Well, I stayed there and enjoyed myself, but eventually started worrying that something would come up and bite my leg or ankle.

So I jumped in the water again (about 5 feet from the edge of this waterfall that seems to have a powerful current. I swam at this unhuman pace up the river and around the curve of the 'D' until I got to the woman's canoe. The oars had fallen out and started floating upstream toward some rapid above the 'D'. It was very strange that the water was moving upstream away from this waterfall. I figure this must be why I didn't get sucked off this waterfall since it was more like a "water-spring".

Well, I swam out and grabbed the oars and came back. I placed the oars in the canoe and went and told the woman what had happened. Then I saw the canoe and the oars were floating upstream. So I swam at this unhuman pace toward the canoe and grabbed it. Another canoe was floating upstream in the rapids. I figured it was someone else's.

Well, I returned the canoe to the woman who was now at the shore at the middle of the curve of the 'D'. There was a short trail that went over a knowl there. The woman, who I now noticed wasn't too much older than myself (probably in her later twenties), started making a fire by using the whole rubbing sticks together method (twirling the end of one into a knot or dip in the other). I didn't think very highly of her method because in my mind I was thinking how the sticks she had were some kind of firewood that lights up by itself if it's rotten and you squeeze it together. Well, it took her like 2 seconds to get the fire to spark. At this point, after thinking how her rubbing the sticks was pointless. I then woke up from the dream.
