Hello Dead Friend [10/12/2005]
I had a short dream this morning. I first found myself sitting at a traffic light in the middle of nowhere. It looked like the mid-west to some degree because it was a flat
plain, and in the very far distance, giant black and grey mountains rose up out of nowhere. A few trees were scattered about, but there were no hills, and the grass was a bit
like that of hearty desert grass.
I sat there in what I think was a red convertable of some sort. Two cars were in front of me. One was silver, and I don't really recall the other. Each of us was staring
the other down through our rear-view mirrors and such. Then the light turned green, the two others turned left, and I went straight.
I crused for a while on this very straight road towards the mountains. I watched out the side window as some people were pulling into a vineyard of sorts that had a lot of
property. I kept going and soon I passed by a friend of mine, Brian, who was going the other way in a small go-cart. I waved, but kept going until I heard a loud car horn,
which I assumed was him. So I stopped and waiting for him as he turned around and came back.
I pulled off into this circle which was much like the center of a round-about, but maybe a little larger than most, and only had one lane going either way. It was more like
they just split the lanes and had one go around one way and the other around the circle the other way, but it really wasn't assumed that you could just go around in circles.
Anyway, we both said our hellos and sat down, and now instead of driving vehicles, we were both in roller skates. He made a nice comment on my roller skates, so I noticed
that. I asked him how he was, and he said he was doing the usual school and exams. I explained that I've been working. Eventually we parted aways and I woke up.
What this means? Well, I know I didn't go to Brian's funeral, so maybe this has something to do with that. The plains and mountains I'm sure have something to do with my
current state in life. That is, I'm on an easy road right now with nothing much to worry about, but come some time in the future, I'll reach those mountains and find quite a
challenge. Black is supposedly a transition period. It's the "death" color, so relating to death, and dying in a dream indicates a life-changing transition.
Also, the staring part at the beginning is my concern at work since it seems like I'm not getting tons done, so I guess I'm concerned about them looming over me. But for
now, things aren't too bad since I went forward and they turned.
The red car, not totally sure, but supposedly it can mean both power and shame. I didn't seem troubled by the red, so it's probably more about power, courage, passion and the
like. The silver car is something more of purity and justice, and since he stared at me, it's probably indicating some injustice.
