Slice and Dismember [8/3/2004]
I don't remember the beginning, but I remember getting into one of those like coalmine coal carts that
you'd normally see the Scooby Doo gang riding around in caves on... Me and Harry Potter got into the cart
and we were told that we'd be going on a nice ride to somewhere. And so we started rolling on this cart
down a pretty cobblestone walkway with well cut grass and flowers and trees that were so perfect it seemed
unreal how beautiful the place was. We started to go under this stone arch that went about 20 feet before
going back out into the open again.
We rolled inside and suddenly these rusty saw blades came out in sets from the floors and ceiling in
rotations and would lift all the way to the ceiling or all the way down to the floors respectively. It felt
like some kind of video game where you had to jump over lazers that were either going to chop your legs off
or your head off if you didn't move out of the way before they turned on and killed you. And we were both
freaked out that this guy must have really been attempting to kill us. We rolled all the way through the
arch just barely making it without a scratch. Thankfully the cart speed was controlled by ourselves or we'd
be dead. We jumped out of the cart immediately at the other side of this white stone arch onto the white
stone walkway and rusty saw blades started coming out of the ground even then and we jumped far into the
grass on the sides and just missed black spikes that hid in the grass and lined the walkway. We ran and
jumped through the flowers and went through the trees and found ourselves in a grassy field with some dead
trees in the middle with a little boy dodging antlers. These antlers were being thrown by some kind of
weird robot that was inside of a suit that you'd think some team mascot would wear cuz the head was enormous
and it was all yellow and seemed to be made of some thick foam.
This point I stopped noticing Harry Potter in the picture and started to assume that this robot was
trying to kill anything that moved in the area that wasn't on its side or something. I ran around myself
and tried to distract the monster from attacking the boy. It started looking for me and it seemed to be
that it didn't totally recognize me. It started talking to me saying, "come closer so I can increase my
texture maps of your face so that I can better recognize you." I knew it would kill me if it started to
recognize who I was so I made a really weird face that he wouldn't know and came up to him and said, "Can I
give you a hug?" in a really cute voice. It went into a panic and started running. I ran after it and it
seemed that I was running around a castle after this robot thing. I caught up to it quickly and grabbed it
by one leg and squeezed really hard and pulled and ripped its leg off. I continued to dismember the whole
robot until it was seemingly lifeless and I saw that I had drawn a crowd of other robots. Three of them
were blue and looked a lot like robot police officers and others were frightened peasant looking robots. I
immediately said something to the effect of, "you want a piece of this?" and I ran after one of the police
officers and ripped it apart just the same and started after the next one when I woke up.
I played peasant's quest the other day, played a lot of Dungeon Siege and such lately too, so I think
that gave the dream this sort of "video game" feel. But there was a hint of something with the white stone
walkway with rusty blades. It sounds like something that seemed innocent would reveal old pains that would
try to hurt me. And there's the idea that something as innocent looking as one of those big people dressed
up like Mickey Mouse or something at a theme park would come after me and try to ruin/kill me. But maybe
not kill me in a real sense but ruin my reputation or something. I don't know what it all means at all.
