The Matrix [7/17/2003]
I had a somewhat strange dream last night. I dreamt I was in the matrix.
It was more like a sequel type thing, but it seemed so real. I was in
some kind of old rusty factory with pipes everywhere and the floors were
all that grated steel and stuff. And we were running in through this maze
of hallways and stairs and everything.
I think I was running along with Trinity and some other guy. We went in
and they all were saying how the matrix was going to explode because it
was reprogrammed and everything was in some kind of super-generative state
where things repairs themselves to their original working state. This
generative state was supposedly going to cause a huge explosive reaction
because of an imbalance in the growth/death rates. Our mission was
basically to defeat some bad dude and get everyone out before the whole
matrix collapses.
As we ran through, I saw things like pipes on the walls repairing
themselves and reconnecting with their other half and restoring to a new
working state. I think I even destroyed a pipe just to see it remold
itself into its original form. It was amazing to see everything around
just reforming right in front of me and starting to function again. I
knew from what I saw that things would build up too much pressure after
being unused for so long and not actually suppose to be working to begin
with.
Well, we ran around this grated platform above a bunch of machinery and
around the perimeter of a room and into this bigger room that looked like
a sparing area from some action film. The floors were all pieces of this
grated steel put together to make one big area. Machines and support
beams were around the sides and hanging far above the platform. This room
was supposedly where the big bad guy was, and Neo was there dueling him
before we got there.
The room was basically split in half. There was this nice sparing area
and a path around the beams into a lowered machining area. We went around
this path and saw this horrid remain of what we knew to be Neo. It was
like something put him in a blender -- Very gross. After seeing that we
went over to the other side and found our opponent chained to a wall. It
was Optimus Prime from Transformers. He was working his way free as we
found him.
At this point we knew we had to destroy him and get out of there before
the whole matrix collapsed and everything was over. So we started at him.
He broke free somehow and we fought him for a little bit, and then my
alarm went off and I woke up.
