Failures [8/1/2003]

Last night I remember two of my dreams. Both dreams are very short, and both dreams were very low detail.

In the first dream, I was in the part of a black basketball player and me and a rival on the team were practicing against each other. We were trying to trip each other up on the indoor track as we ran around. The court we were in was of a light blue color with the standard basketball court and a track around it. After our little run-in with each other, our coach decided to have us play against each other. The other guy complained about how I always was famed over him because of "my sister" who I assumed was a really good player with the girls basketball team at this school. So I then got the idea that I was the popular one of the team because I had a famed basketball player for a sister.

I was truely horrible at basketball. I could dribble the ball like a dream, but I couldn't shoot except straight up for some reason. So we shot hoops for a bit and we were getting nowhere because I couldn't make shots and the other guy couldn't hold onto the ball long enough. Almost like we were a strict team, but we hated each other. A few girls sat on the side and watched us. They seemed flirty. Then the coach called in two girl players to join my opponent's side and I was told to take on all three. The stood one girl on both side of the guy and it seemed kinda like one of those corny heroic posses. I then woke up to the alarm. I can understand the basketball because a new friend invited me to play over in Amsterdam if I ever was free. The rest of it is kinda uncertain.

The second dream started out in our neighbor's garage. I was thinking about garages for some reason and Mr. Hodgson's garage is always really nice and clean, and they have garage parties and such sometimes. So I fell asleep with that thought and appeared in my dream there. Tom and Lena and his best man, Kevin, and his Kevin's wife were there, but I didn't see Maya. I didn't see much of Kevin and his wife either. I mostly saw Tom and Lena. We all left the garage and went to our left and up a big hill (which is actually down a hill in reality, as if backwards). This skinny cobblestone walkway weaved up and split apart as we went up the hill, and it got steeper and steeper as we went up. Eventually I picked up Lena and handed her up the the top here Tom was. Tom grabbed her, but her whole body fit in his hand for some reason, and only her head stuck out of his hand. Lena suddenly wasn't Lena and instead was a little boy about the same age as Lena. Tom put him down and the little boy tried to walk back down the hill but fell and rolled half way down until I ran and caught him up before he was hurt anymore. He didn't cry however. He was covered in dry dirt all over. Eyes, hands, hair, face and everything. I tried to clean him up but he just never got clean. He seemed to send a message to me that it was alright and I shouldn't worry about him. It almost seemed like he was decaying into dirt or something. I then woke up. This second dream seems to be understandable to me given the current circumstances.

If you tried to sell something using my dreams, I'd have to wonder.
